    Bernard Hardisty FRPharmS grew up in Yorkshire, which he loved. As a student, Bernard met his future wife Anne when they were both training to be pharmacists. After Bernard finished his national service in the RAF he married Anne in 1957 and they moved to Surrey, settling in Great Bookham. Their children, Susan and Mark, were born in the early 1960s. Anne first worked in community pharmacy, then hospital pharmacy at Epsom District Hospital, before finishing her career at the Ministry of Agric
