Lindsey Gilpin

As a member of the English Pharmacy Board (EPB), Lindsey was very well respected for her passion and her integrity. I worked very closely with her and saw her grow into the role of EPB chair, a post of which she was rightly very proud.

The passion always came out when discussions turned to the professional autonomy of pharmacists or to corporate bullying; Lindsey was a fierce defender of the rights of individual pharmacists. Having been a locum for many years, I was also aware of the benefit of Lindsey’s ongoing championing of the need to think about the locum workforce, and her insistence to find out if something “passed the locum test”.

Lindsey always wanted to do the right thing, not just to be seen as being upright but because her inner moral code always shed light on the proper course of action. This integrity earned her a huge and well deserved respect from everybody she encountered.

I will also remember that it was fun working with Lindsey. Alongside the serious commitments, she had a great sense of humour and always had time for a laugh. Lindsey was great and is deeply missed by my team and all of those who she touched here at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
