Fines over missed medical exemption renewal

20 February 2015: The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) responded to a special investigation by BBC Oxford Radio, also reported on BBC News online, into fines being issued without warning to patients who have forgotten to renew their medical exemption certificates.

RPS spokesperson Neal Patel said: “We’d like to see a far more constructive approach which supports and informs patients rather than make them bear the bureaucratic burden of an unfair system.”
