PJ app FAQs

Why has the Pharmaceutical Journal app changed?

When the new Pharmaceutical Journal website launched, we knew we wanted to make sure the apps reflected the same look and feel to give our users a better experience. The Android version was significantly out of date and we made the decision to remove this from the store while we worked on updating the app.

How do I get the new version of the app?

Please visit the App Store or Google Play to download the new version. The old version will not be updated, so please ensure you download the new version.

Apple App Store: https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/pharmaceutical-journal/id649954083

Android App on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rpharms.pj

How do I know if I have the latest version of the app?

To check what version you have installed, go to the left-hand sidebar and tap on the cog icon.

The version is shown on the settings page.

How do I view articles on the app?

Tap the three lines in the top left-hand corner to open the sidebar, from which you can browse the various article types.

To close the left-hand sidebar, either select an article to view, swipe right to left on your device or tap on the menu icon again (if visible on your device).

When using the sidebar to browse the article types, the arrow to the right of the article type will take you to a list of the articles in that area.

Tap on the title of the article to read it. You can browse articles within a specific category by tapping on the article type name. The articles within that category will then display on the screen.

To read an article, tap on the relevant title or image. To read more content of the same article type, scroll through the articles by swiping right to left, or by using the sidebar.

How often will the app be updated?

The new Pharmaceutical Journal app updates regularly and automatically with any new articles posted on pharmaceutical-journal.com, so you can always stay up to date with the latest pharmacy news and learning.

Can I view content offline?

Yes. When the app is opened and the mobile device is online (through WiFi or mobile data), new content is downloaded to the app. Once the updated content has been downloaded, it is available to read offline. This will take around 5 seconds.

Can you search in the new version of the app?

To use the search functionality to find relevant content by keywords, go to the left-hand sidebar and tap on the magnifying glass icon. Here, you can enter the relevant keyword and results will be displayed underneath. To view the article, tap the title.

The app must be online to allow searches to be carried out.

Can I get the Pharmaceutical Journal app on my device?

The app is available for Apple iOS and Android devices; please download it from the relevant store for your device.

Can I change the font size?

To change the font size, go to the left-hand sidebar and tap on the cog icon.

You can change the font setting from here to one of four font sizes.

Is the Pharmaceutical Journal app supported on my operating system?

The PJ app is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Please ensure you keep your software up to date with the latest versions of iOS and Android.

The PJ app will work with any software version which iOS and Android currently support. Their policy is to support three versions – the latest release and the two previous versions. Please check online which is the latest version as they do change frequently. For the best experience, the latest operating system is recommended.

The apps may function on devices running older versions of Android and iOS, but this is not guaranteed and may lead to a degraded performance.
