One of the most irritating assertions I hear is when someone wrongfully claims that a pharmacist only really has three places to go after qualification - community, hospital or industrial pharmacy.     Students cannot be accepted on to the five-year integrated preregistration MPharm degree at the University of Birmingham, according to the General Pharmaceutical Council. The council agreed that the degree should not progress from step three to step four of the accreditation process following a recommendation from the GPhC accreditation team.

    The University of Huddersfield’s MPharm course was granted full accreditation this week (12 June 2012) by the General Pharmaceutical Council. Its first group of 53 students is expected to graduate on 16 July 2012, and the university aims to recruit 72 students each year.
