Health minister David Mowat had set out the government’s planned cuts to community pharmacy in a statement to the House of Commons, dashing industry hopes that the plans would be rethought.

David Mowat confirmed in an address to the House of Commons that community pharmacy funding will be cut from 1 December 2016 by 4% for 2016-2017 to £2.687bn — representing a cut of 12% for the final four months of 2016-2017
