The Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Scottish Executive has elected a new chairman and vice-chairman for 2000-01.
At a meeting of the executive on June 14, Miss Alison Strath was unanimously elected chairman, succeeding Mr Graeme Millar, who has been chairman for the past two years. Mr David Thomson was unanimously elected to succeed Miss Strath as vice-chairman.
Miss Strath is a community pharmacists in Elie, Fife, and Mr Thomson is director of pharmacy for Greater Glasgow Primary Care NHS trust.
In this year's election of six members of the executive, Dr Steven Kayne, Ms Dot Anderson and Mrs Fiona McMillan were elected to replace Mrs Pat Duncan, Mr Ian Johnstone and Mr Joe Richards, each of whom had chosen not to seek re-election. Miss Strath, Mr George Downie and Mr David Forbes were all re-elected.
The seventh candidate, Mr Edward Mallinson, has been co-opted on to the executive to replace Mrs Elizabeth Roddick, who has resigned. He will serve for the remainder of her term of office, which expires in 2002. Mrs Roddick had been an executive member since 1990 and was chairman for 1996-98.
