Alex MacKinnon appointed Society’s new director for Scotland
Alex MacKinnon has been appointed the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s new director for Scotland.
Currently head of corporate affairs at Community Pharmacy Scotland, Mr MacKinnon will take up his post with the Society on 4 October 2010. He replaces Lyndon Braddick, who announced his retirement in April.
Mr MacKinnon, who has previously worked as a community pharmacist for Lloydspharmacy, said: “Pharmacy practice in Scotland has advanced greatly over the last decade and it is vitally important that we support the innovative approach to practice that now exists.
“Now more than ever, the profession needs a leadership body that will represent pharmacy at the highest level. It is vital that the voices for pharmacy are aligned, and that they are heard if we are to secure the future of the profession.”
