Antimicrobial guidance app produced

By News Team

Pharmacists and doctors at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust have developed the UK’s first smartphone app that provides patient-specific guidance for antimicrobial prescribing. Users input details about the likely site and severity of a patient’s infection and the app gives recommendations for treatment. Other features include an interactive nomogram for gentamicin dosing and advice about switching from IV to oral antibiotics.
