International Pharmaceutical Federation workforce report published

By News team

Valuable data to enable workforce planning and improve medicines use worldwide is available in the 2012 FIP Global Pharmacy Workforce Report, published today (5 October 2012).

Based on a survey carried out in 90 countries, representing four million pharmacy staff and 3,800 academic institutions, it is designed to inform decision-makers all over the world.

So much data have never been collected on this topic before and the authors, including UCL School of Pharmacy’s Ian Bates, believe that the information is essential to plan workforce requirements and to improve the responsible use of medicines in all countries by ensuring the pharmacy workforce carries out the appropriate roles.
