New chronic pain centre to be set up in Scotland
A new national centre of excellence for treating chronic pain will be established in Scotland, the Scottish Government announced on 28 April 2014.
The announcement coincided with the publication of a review of current chronic pain services by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. It found that, although chronic pain services are steadily improving, wide variation in service provision, clinical practice and resources exists.
The location of the new chronic pain centre will be decided at the end of May 2014.
