Mark Lyonette, currently chief executive of the Association of British Credit Unions, has been appointed as the new chief executive of the National Pharmacy Association

The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) has announced that Mark Lyonette will be its new chief executive.

Lyonette is currently chief executive of the Association of British Credit Unions, a role he has held for 13 years. Speaking of his new appointment, he said it was “an honour to have the opportunity to serve the thousands of independent community pharmacies who rely on the NPA to provide essential services, a strong voice and a vehicle for collective progress”.

The NPA has been without a chief executive since 2014, when Mike Holden, the previous incumbent, left the role. From April 2014 until July 2017, David Simons led the Association on an interim basis as chief operating officer.

Lyonette will take up his post in June.
