Boots has been ranked as one of the top 25 best large companies to work for, in a list published in the latest edition of The Sunday Times (7 March 2010).
In the 10th year of the paper’s best companies contest, Boots UK came in at number 18 in the best 25 big companies category. Boots Opticians achieved sixth place.
Nearly 1,000 businesses participated in the competition overall, with a total of 300 winners spread over four categories.
As part of the judging process, over 8,000 Boots UK and Boots Opticians employees were surveyed. Managing editor of The Sunday Times Richard Caseby commends all of the companies that took part for “opening their doors to forensic examination of their workplace culture”.
Introducing this year’s competition results, he says: “After some of the toughest trading conditions any of us have known, the companies in this year's lists command great respect. Not only have they survived the recession, they have carried their employees with them, keeping them engaged and motivated to give their best even when colleagues were being made redundant.”
Registration is now open for the 2011 best companies to work for contest.
