Antiviral prescribing for influenza

The Department of Health (DH) has said that antiviral medications may now be prescribed at NHS expense for prophylaxis and treatment of influenza. This follows a recent increase in influenza virus activity. Antivirals should be considered for patients at risk of severe complications from influenza, or if they are in a “clinical at risk group”.
