Gastric antral vascular ectasia reported in chronic myeloid leukaemia patients

The summary of product characteristics for Glivec (imatinib; Novartis) now states that gastric antral vascular ectasia, a rare cause of gastrointestinal haemorrhage, has been reported in patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia and other diseases. When needed, discontinuation of Glivec treatment may be considered.
