With the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) due to come into force in February 2019 (with the caveat of a Brexit deal, of course), it’s no surprise that our infographic explaining how FMD will work was the most read of those published in 2018. Other topics that made it to the top five include medical cannabis and our salary and satisfaction survey.

However, the most popular infographic for the second year running was one on the history of aspirin, which was published in 2014.

The top five infographics published in 2018 were:

1. Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD): how it will work

The Falsified Medicines Directive will be rolled out in Europe from February 2019 to address the threat of fake medicines and will impact the entire supply chain.

2. The 2017 pharmacy salary and satisfaction survey

The Pharmaceutical Journal surveyed Royal Pharmaceutical Society members about their salary, and how they feel about their career and the profession.

3. A quick guide to medical cannabis

With medical cannabis now legal in 44 countries around the world, and the UK likely to follow suit, here is what pharmacists need to know.

4. Pregnancy problems: a guide for pharmacy

Pregnancy causes many changes to the body, some of which can result in troublesome symptoms. Here we explain what pharmacy teams can do to help women seeking advice.

5. Statins: the highs and the lows

Negative press seems to follow statins, the most prescribed drugs in England, despite them revolutionising cardiovascular disease prevention.
