Members alienated from voting in RPS elections

Recent letters (The Pharmaceutical Journal 2015;294:20) have expressed concern over voter turnout in Royal Pharmaceutical Society pharmacy board elections. I wrote in 2013 (
The Pharmaceutical Journal

2013;291:12) suggesting that many members feel alienated from the election process for the boards because they see little about their work other than the annual reports from the board chairmen. We have no idea what individual members of the boards do, or what their views are on issues of the moment. There is still little reporting in the The Pharmaceutical Journal about the work of the boards. Perhaps all the boards need to add an item to their agendas for “member communication”?
