Postgraduate education gives pharmacists an edge
Continuing professional development (CPD) is an essential pathway for pharmacists to evolve their knowledge and skills and I welcome initiatives by the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education to provide a variety of postgraduate courses for pharmacists.
However, investment in postgraduate training has been parsimonious on many levels. Hopefully the government’s initiatives to provide postgraduate loans for masters students would help (albeit available only to those under 30 years of age).
That said, any investment in worthwhile CPD postgraduate study does not pay off immediately, but with experience and perseverance it can give pharmacists an edge in advancing their skills and careers.
