Pharmacist Ron Pate recognised in Queen’s birthday honours

Ron Pate, who is secondary care pharmaceutical adviser to the department of medicines management at Keele University, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2012 for his services to hospital pharmacy.

Mr Pate has held a number of key pharmacy roles in the West Midlands, is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, a past president of the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists and a former honorary secretary to the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists.

Commenting on his award he said: "I am of course delighted with my MBE and owe this achievement to the many excellent professional colleagues with whom I’ve worked and, over the years, their support and assistance with my own personal development."
