University of Birmingham set to launch MPharm degree

By News team

The University of Birmingham College of Medical and Dental Sciences is looking to start a new MPharm degree, with a first intake of students in October 2013.

The degree is part of a wider pharmacy initiative including various postgraduate programmes and research activities.

Pro-vice chancellor and head of the college Lawrence Young said that the introduction of pharmacy programmes represents a major investment that will enhance the drive to establish evidence-based medicines optimisation at Birmingham.

He added that it also supported the college’s ambition to be one of the leading translational research centres in Europe.
