Giving the game away

From Dr E. W. Slater, MRPharmS

Regarding Linda Stone's apologia in response to Robert Blyth's letter (PJ, 16 February, p212), she really gives the game away in her final sentence: "... behave as if they were just an ordinary member of the Society."

E. W. Slater
Wirral, Merseyside

From R. T. Hughes-Jones, MRPharmS

Linda Stone's response to Robert Blyth's letter (PJ, 16 February, p212) raises an interesting point. Are we not all just "ordinary members" of our Society? The fact that one aspires to the exalted position of Council member does not in any way confer upon one the title of "extraordinary" member of the Society.

Is this another example of that new and rather virulent disease "ivorytoweritis"?

R. Hughes-Jones
Aberystwyth, Dyfed
