Update on health initiatives available from website

A Royal Pharmaceutical Society publication aimed at keeping pharmacists informed of national health initiatives is now available to download from the Society's website.

The first issue of Interlink was published in November 2001 and sent to pharmacy development groups and secretaries of the Society's branches in England. The eight-page publication covers the four national service frameworks (NSFs) in mental health, coronary heart disease, cancer and older people. It gives an overview of the standards set out in the NSFs and highlights opportunities for pharmacy to help raise quality and decrease variations in service.

Anne Adams, the Society's professional development manager, said: "Interlink has been produced to keep pharmacists informed of current initiatives and provide them with tools to help them integrate into their local health networks."

The second issue of Interlink will be available soon and will covers the diabetes NSF, the Audit Commission?s ?A spoonful of sugar? and the Government?s ?Building a safer NHS?. Versions of the newsletter relating to pharmacists in Scotland and Wales are also expected soon.

Interlink can be accessed by following the branch link or PDG link from the "About the Society" section of the Society's website. Copies can can also be obtained from Yvonne Dennington (tel 020 7572 2208; e-mail ydennington@rpsgb.org.uk).
