John D’Arcy — looking back on community pharmacy and predictions for the future


I have concerns in respect of both any relaxation in supervision and the clinical check of all prescriptions. However, there is a clear need for an expansion of the pharmaceutical services provided by community pharmacy. A satisfactory solution would be to ensure that two pharmacists were available throughout the pharmacy's opening hours to provide the full range of services together with an expanded role for the pharmacy's pharmacy technicians.
