Is it worth all community pharmacies having an online presence?

Comment

Granted that currently, the number of prescriptions dispensed online is a drop in the ocean, but there will come a point when critical mass is reached and then there will be no stopping of online dispensing and other services. Community pharmacy needs to take heed now and plan for the coming digital future. It is simply not enough to bury one's head in the sand and hope that the digital future does not arrive anytime soon. Those that do not plan now will be planning to fail. Should independent pharmacies have an online presence? The answer is a resounding 'yes', but simply putting up a rudimentary website for the sake of it is nothing more than a pointless exercise. One needs to take the time to really understand how an online presence can add value to a business and then take the necessary steps to create a proper online presence to achieve that end.
