NHS England to pilot patient referral scheme between GPs and community pharmacy

Long awaited NHS 10 yr plan seems to be positive in planning for the future but it fails totally in understanding how the pharmacy sector works at a ground level. It also does not recognise the huge savings that are delivered by Pharmacist across the NHS sector .Pity no one mentioned that Community Pharmacies are the most efficient part of the NHS and saving millions pound every year directly and indirectly. Further more as population ages it becomes critical that extra funding should be made to ensure that our elderly patients are cared for appropriately.
