Joerg Reinhardt: 'A career in industry demands authenticity, candour and courage'

As a well retired pharmacist, 45 years in industry (including pre-registration year) I feel that the society did itself a disservice not allowing the full year to be spent that way. I had a structured year in QC as an analyst, development as a low grade technician and production as an operator doing everything including a spell with the cleaning team. From that start I supervised production sections, went on to process development on the factory floor and eventually factory management. I believe that the first year allowed the company to evaluate me and commit to the expense of training me, which now does not appear to exist.
