My pharmacy preregistration training provider wasn't up to scratch

It is a given that with the best will in the world, there will be a number of pre reg training providers (and hopefully this will be a very small number) who will not be up to the task of training. The important point here is there there should be mechanisms in place to identify such instances very quickly and ensure swift remedial action so that a pre reg trainee can get on with their training (with another provided should this become necessary) without anxiety and delay. It is concerning to see that in this case, the pre reg tutor declined a meeting prior to commencement of the training. Surely, this is very important in order to establish a rapport with the trainer and to find out if there are any potential areas of concern prior to commencement of the training. Is it possible that a more rigorous process needs to be established in order to identify suitable pre-reg trainers and pharmacies?
