Call for grant applications: Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship

Funding has been made available from the Department of Health and Social Care, through the Fleming Fund, to support implementation of antimicrobial stewardship activities in four low or middle-income commonwealth countries: Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

The funding is intended to support multi-disciplinary teams from UK NHS trusts to develop partnerships with hospital institutions in these countries.

This health partnership scheme is being led by the Tropical Health Education Trust (THET) and the Commonwealth Pharmacists’ Association (CPA) and is aimed at multi-disciplinary approaches that involve, or are led by, pharmacy.

The call for applications will go live on 31 October 2018 and close on 5 January 2019.

A series of UK-wide events will take place to provide more information about the scheme and advice on applications. Details of the events are available at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/thet-862230659.

More information is available from the Commonwealth Pharmacists’ Association website.
