Eric Brierley

On 3 July 2018, Eric Brierley, aged 78 years of Stubbington, Hampshire. Dr Brierley registered with the Society in 1962. In 1961, he graduated with a BPharm from the Welsh School of Pharmacy at the University of Wales, and in 1966 he was awarded a PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry for research on rotenone from the same institution.

After his PhD, Dr Brierley spent a short time in industry with Lederle (Cyanamid), before becoming a hospital pharmacist in Portsmouth where he was responsible for the supervision of the manufacturing of specialist pharmaceutical products. He remained in the Portsmouth area after his retirement and continued his interest in sporting activities, particularly tennis and bowls.
