On 26 March 2018, William Charles Evans FRPharmS, aged 93 years, of Southleigh, Colyton, East Devon. Evans was the author of Trease and Evans’ Pharmacognosy, a major reference work on pharmacognosy, natural products research and the pharmacology of medicinal plants.
