Museum objects to be displayed at Geoffrey Flavell Symposium, Apothecaries’ Hall

Objects from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) museum will be displayed at the Geoffrey Flavell Symposium ‘The Heart, Health and Culture’, to be held at Apothecaries’ Hall, London, on 29 June 2017. Matthew Johnston, museum documentation assistant and Peter Homan, museum volunteer and current president of the British Society for the History of Pharmacy (BSHP), will be displaying heart-related objects from the museum collection — including deer heart cartilage from the 1700s, administered for treatment of heart palpitations.

Places at the event may be booked through the website of The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries on London: http://www.apothecaries.org/Apothecaries/media/Media/Faculty%20HPMP/Flavell-Prog.pdf
