RPS event ‘How to become a pharmacist in a GP practice’: Friday 18 November 2016

Following the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) English Pharmacy Board campaign to encourage greater collaboration between GPs and pharmacists, NHS England have pledged £112m of funding which should deliver around 1,500 more jobs for pharmacists working in GP surgeries by 2020.

The three-year initiative will give patients the additional support of an expert pharmacist in their GP surgery. The pharmacists will be employed directly by the general practice to help patients, while also easing GP workload and improving communication between general practice, hospitals and community pharmacists.

  • Understand more about the role of a practice pharmacist based in a GP surgery and the benefits a pharmacist could bring to patients and the team;
