Tribute: Brenda Ecclestone

For a number of years, Brenda was a committed and much loved member of our British National Formulary team, not least during the demanding period when it was first converted in to an electronic database.

Brenda was a kind and witty person with a gentle soul. In addition to sharing a profession, she and I shared many similar views. Among other things, we shared a deep love of the Lake District and a deep hatred of war. I remember many an animated chat with her about both.

Shortly before Brenda left London and the south of England, she gave me a beautiful mahogany stand from her father’s pharmacy. I value it greatly and always remember a good friend and colleague whenever it gets a polish!
