Jane graduated from the School of Pharmacy, University of London, in 1979 and spent her preregistration at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
From there, Jane returned to her native East Lancashire and worked in Burnley General Hospital before moving into community pharmacy. She worked as a pharmacist and manager at several pharmacies in the Burnley area and further afield, from Kendal, Cumbria, to West Yorkshire.
She will be remembered for her professionalism and the care and humour she brought to her work, and the satisfaction she took in mentoring new entrants to the profession.
Jane is lovingly remembered and missed terribly by her husband, Ian; her sons Jonathan, Stephen and Harry; and other family members and friends.
