Olwyn Elizabeth Morris (née Robson)

It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of our dear friend Olwyn Morris (née Robson).

Olwyn graduated from the Liverpool School of Pharmacy in 1978 and, after a preregistration year in hospital pharmacy in Newcastle, she became a community pharmacist in Crook, County Durham, eventually taking over the Britton and Robson Pharmacy in Willington from her father, Bill Robson.

Situated at a crossroads near the town centre, the pharmacy is a genuine focal point for the local community and Olwyn served the people of Willington and the surrounding countryside for almost 40 years, providing care and advice. In later years, she became a lay preacher in the local Methodist chapel. She always tried to find the good in every person and that Olwyn was not merely respected but was loved by the community she served was evidenced by the great many mourners who attended her funeral.

Olwyn endured her illness and treatment with great fortitude and strength, and is survived by her loving husband Richard, two wonderful sons, Matthew and Michael, and many friends who will miss her sparkling conversation, unfailing good humour, optimism and sage advice.
