Drugs should be priced the same whether targeted at children or adults

8 September 2016: The Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s chief scientist, Jayne Lawrence, was interviewed on two successive days by BBC Radio 4’s PM programme about the way some identical medicines are priced differently, depending on whether they are marketed at children or adults.

Lawrence said: “In my opinion it’s wrong that the same product when targeted at a child is more expensive than that targeted at an adult.”
