Harvinder Sondh appointed director of innovation and enterprise

Harvinder Sondh

Harvinder (Harvey) Sondh will take up the role of director of innovation and enterprise, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) has announced. This is a new role for the Society, and forms part of a restructure of the Society’s executive team.

Sondh, currently director of marketing and product development in the Society’s Pharmaceutical Press division, has been with the RPS for six years. During his time with the Society, he led the development and delivery of the updated MedicinesComplete platform. In his new role, he will identify and manage innovative approaches to business challenges, and work across the Society to deliver revenue-generating products and services to RPS members and customers. The revenue will, the Society said, be reinvested in activities that support members and the aims expressed in the RPS Charter.

Describing his appointment as “an exciting moment for me, both personally and professionally,” Sondh said he was “committed to ensuring the voice of our members and customers resonates with all the products and services we develop and deliver.

“These are times which hold challenges and opportunities across the profession. Anticipating and addressing the needs of our members as they arise will be a central part of my new role. I look forward to working with an exceptional team at the RPS, our diverse membership and our customer base to build on our successes and uncover new growth opportunities for the Society both in the UK and beyond.”

Welcoming Sondh to the executive team, Paul Bennett, chief executive of the RPS, said he was “delighted that in Harvey we have someone who is able to truly understand the needs of our members and customers and who is able to draw upon his experience of using member and customer insight to develop products and services that meet the needs of those that the Society aims to support.

“I look forward to working with Harvey and colleagues as we begin the next stage of our journey to demonstrate real relevance of the RPS to our members, and build a compelling reason for pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists to become and remain members so that together, we can advance the profession of pharmacy for public and patient benefit.”

Sondh will take up the role of director of innovation and enterprise in August 2018.
