New and improved AMS Hub launched
As part of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s (RPS) antimicrobial stewardship campaign, the antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) portal has been given a major makeover by the Society’s Professional Development and Services team.
Originally created by University College London, the AMS portal was intended to bring together useful resources on antimicrobial stewardship. The refreshed portal, now hosted on the RPS website and renamed the AMS Hub, has been refreshed, revised and expanded with the specific needs of pharmacists in mind.
The portal signposts to all GB governmental and regulatory guidance, and also features a section pointing to international AMS recommendations. Among other new features, a ‘clinical and technical’ resource section links to all relevant NICE guidance, while a ‘training and education’ area signposts material suitable for pharmacists speaking to schools and younger people. An ‘initiatives and campaigns’ section flags any upcoming events, campaigns and awareness days, and also includes patient-facing materials, and there is a separate area of the portal dedicated to sepsis management.
RPS library resources are also embedded within the new portal. Society members can set up an AMS email alert with the library, allowing them to receive alerts whenever new journal articles about AMS are published.
The new AMS portal may be accessed at https://www.rpharms.com/resources/ultimate-guides-and-hubs/amsportal. The portal will be regularly updated as new AMS resources are created. Anyone wishing to recommend an addition to the portal — new guidance, for example, or useful resources not currently present on the site — is asked to contact firstname.lastname@example.org
News about AMS and antimicrobial resistance is published regularly in The Pharmaceutical Journal’s special report.
