Robbie Turner has been appointed as the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s (RPS) new director of pharmacy and member experience.
Turner joined the RPS in January 2017 as director for England. In his new role, he will lead the Society’s activities around professional standards, professional support, professional consultations, member events, marketing and communications and public relations.
Directors for Scotland, Wales and England will report directly to Turner to ensure effective implementation of policy decisions of the national pharmacy boards, the RPS said.
Turner said that he considered his appointment to be an ”absolute honour and privilege”.
“This is a pivotal time for the profession and the need for a strong, dynamic and forward thinking professional leadership body has never been greater,” he added.
Paul Bennett, chief executive of the RPS, welcomed Turner to his new role. “Robbie is as passionate as I am about ensuring the RPS increases its efforts to clearly demonstrate the real value of membership of the Society.”
Turner will take up his new position in July 2018.
