Call for post-nominals for pharmacist prescribers

By Clinical Pharmacist

Professionally agreed post-nominals for pharmacist prescribers should be created by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, according to leaders of a new campaign (Pharmaceutical Journal 2011;287:339).

The pharmacists, who are prescribers themselves, have created an online questionnaire (www.surveymonkey.com/s/GYRH68S) to obtain the views of pharmacists on the topic. Neal Patel, head of corporate communications at the RPS said: “We welcome our pharmacist independent prescribers’ views about this and the survey will help inform our thinking on future plans for recognising generalist and specialist professional practice.”
