RPS deputy chief scientist on BBC 1’s Health: Truth or Scare

Claire Thompson, deputy chief scientist at the RPS

Claire Thompson, deputy chief scientist at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), appeared on BBC1’s Health: Truth or Scare on 17 April 2018, discussing medicines for heartburn and the long-term use of proton pump inhibitors.

Thompson performed a laboratory demonstration of how acid in the stomach can cause heartburn, and said: “Proton pump inhibitors stop the problem before it starts, which is important for some patients.”

A video of Thompson’s appearance is available here.
