Aggarwal is a community pharmacist and manages a chain of pharmacies in Cardiff. He is also an honorary consul for India. In September 2018, he was conferred the title of honorary lieutenant commander.
Describing his promotion as “a really happy surprise”, Aggarwal said that he wanted to use his position to “to create greater diversity in the navy, to show the community that the navy will be supportive and that there are amazing careers on offer”.
Aggarwal moved to Cardiff from Kenya in 1967, and studied pharmacy at Cardiff University. He registered with the then Pharmaceutical Society in 1973 and received RPS Fellowship in 2013.
