RPS to focus activities on coronavirus support

Royal Pharmaceutical Society building in London

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) has announced that it will stop all activities that are not related to coronavirus. The decision has been made because “supporting our members, the wider profession and the public around COVID-19 is now our priority”.

In a statement published on the RPS website, the Society said the move will free up its teams “to make sure we provide the support that’s required”.

As part of this focus on COVID-19, face-to-face events will be stopped and will instead be run as online events. In addition, the RPS will increase its member support service and, “in consultation with the NHS, governments, expert groups and other stakeholders”, develop additional support and resources.

The Society’s dedicated coronavirus page is being updated regularly. The page brings together important updates and resources for pharmacists, signposting to the latest government and country-specific information, as well as guidance and providing advice on contingency planning for pharmacy teams.

The page also features public-facing advice for people with confirmed or possible COVID-19 infection, linked to Public Health England’s guidance.

The RPS member support service can be contacted by phone on 0333 733 2570; by email at: support@rpharms.com and on Twitter @RPSsupport
