Use antibiotics properly
18 June 2014: Jocelyn Parkes, director of RPS Wales, wrote in Western Mail’s “The Professionals” section this week. Titled ”Use antibiotics properly”, her piece spoke about a “post-antibiotic era where common infections and minor injuries can kill”. She said: “It’s vital that we take them [antibiotics] as intended, take the right dose (not a substandard one), always finish the course and don’t take antibiotics for a viral infection. Not taking medicines as prescribed makes the situation worse, as it gives untreated bacteria a chance to change.”
