RPS launches Research Resource Hub

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) has announced the launch of its new Research Resource Hub.

The hub, which is designed specifically for pharmacy practitioners, offers members guidance and support at all stages of their research, from the planning stages, to applying for funding, to writing up and disseminating the results.

“Developing capacity for research in pharmacy is core to the RPS science strategy,” says Christine Bond, chair of the RPS Pharmaceutical Science Expert Advisory Panel. “Robust, well designed and well conducted research enables pharmacy to generate evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of pharmacy services on improving the health of individual patients and the wider population.

“This new resource will provide all pharmacists with the basic knowledge to conduct their own research and to assess the evidence generated by others,” she adds.

The resource provides guidance and signposts to further external sources of support. The RPS says it will add extra information and updates in due course.

“Through our five-year strategy we are committed to supporting the education and development of the profession and to driving forward research and innovation in medicines and healthcare,” says RPS president Martin Astbury. “A workforce enabled and supported in research, evidence and evaluation, regardless of sector or career stage, provides the best possible care for patients and the public.”
