Untangling IBS from IBD

Although they sound similar, share some symptoms and are not mutually exclusive, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease are two distinct conditions that require different approaches.

Correction: This infographic lists methotrexate as a treatment for moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis. This is an error. Methotrexate has no role in the maintenance of remission in ulcerative colitis.
