Pharmacy graduates will be given clearer signs to help them find their way to their pre-registration assessment hall, the regulator has said.
The promise, by the General Pharmaceutical Council, which was discussed at its council meeting on 8 November 2018, following comments from the British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association on the logistics of this summer’s pre-reg assessment.
Three questions were removed from the latest assessment test papers which students sat this summer, according to a report by the board assessors which was presented to the council meeting.
One question was taken off because the unit costs were wrong. Two questions were removed from paper two — one because it was felt too advanced for the pre-registration students and another on the grounds the wording was unclear.
In summer 2018, the examiners allowed 126 adjustment requests from candidates. The majority of them were the need for additional time from students who had dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia, or others who were suffering from anxiety, stress, panic attacks or had general aches and pains.
Other adjustments made followed requests to be seated near to the toilets.
